FAQ

What is the difference between different synthetic grass companies?
Inquire about nylon thatch percentage, backings, stitch rates, and face weights. Some companies have inexpensive backings that prove to be of poor quality and cannot be used on athletic fields. Comparing the preceding factors will reveal the quality of the product and what you will be getting for the money you spend. However, yarn technology is difficult to determine. Our company assures the latest in yarn technology, constantly keeping up to date with only the most modern.
Is there any maintenance involved in synthetic grass?
Yes, there is. Synthetic grass should be rinsed and groomed from time to time. Activity level will determine the maintenance requirements. Pet turf and high traffic turf should be cleaned more often. To properly clean turf, rinse it and use a stiff bristled rake or broom to groom the fibers. This process will prevent any future matting and help to maintain the aesthetics of your turf. Should your turf already have a matted appearance, we suggest getting it professionally groomed for full restoration. For heavy traffic areas, we also suggest placing stepping stones over the turf or form a path in order to maintain its appearance.
Is synthetic grass good for pets?
Yes, our synthetic grass is indeed pet-friendly. Turf has been popularly used by animal hospitals, kennels and breeders, ranch owners, and homeowners with pets. Our pet turf is designed to withstand animal urine and stains. It is now possible to have a green, healthy-looking lawn while owning pets!
How do I clean the synthetic grass?
Simply rinse with water as needed. With pets, pick up solid waste and residue can be sprayed clean. Rinse as frequently as needed to avoid odors which are a build up of bacterial spores. Durafill does not absorb external elements, which limits bacteria and odor as well as many other benefits (refer to data sheet). For a thorough cleaning, which should be rarely needed-flush with a mixture of 50% white distilled vinegar and 50% water. This will neutralize the bacterial spores.
Is it true the synthetic grass can get hot?
The turf can get hot in temperatures usually above 80-90 degrees in direct sunlight. Blade temperature can be decreased with Durafill. Durafill does not heat up like rubber, therefore not transferring that intense heat into the blades of grass (refer to the data sheet).
What is the difference between infill and non-infill products?
Non-infill products make installs less costly and more convenient when selling to the public directly. However, note that there are crucial reasons for using infill in products. Infill protects tufts during traffic and activity. It is also used for a ballast- on a typical installation, there are hundreds or thousands of pounds of infill to weigh the product down. Infill products also offer G-MAX, which softens the feel of turf under your feet, also making it a safer choice. Lastly, infill gives a base for turf blade recovery. We truly believe that a more appropriate name would be minimal infill products.
Does synthetic grass drain?
Turf backing is perforated and drains just as natural grass does. If drains would be needed in natural grass, synthetic grass should be treated in the same manner.
Does the sheen go away and why do some products shine more than others?
The sheen will progressively fade and go away in time. Some products in the marketplace shine more than others for various reasons. Turf with thicker blades refracts more light, as rectangular yarn also refracts more light. Some yarns also go through a delustering process to fade the shine. The amount of time depends on the shape of the product and the chemical makeup of the yarn composition.
